The trail begins in Umm Qais, also known as Gadara, one of the ten cities of the ancient Decapolis. From there, we descend toward the Arab Dam, reaching Tel Mazraa’ at the water’s edge. We then follow the southern shoreline of the reservoir before climbing through rolling hills to a fertile agricultural plain and the village of Zabda. The hike concludes here, followed by a delicious local lunch before returning to Amman.
