The hike begins with a long but pleasant downhill through pine, oak, and carob trees. Then a short uphill to Khirbet Sartabah, to arrive at a forest before descending back down to arrive at Pella Ruins. We will stop midway to prepare some tea overlooking the fertile lands of the Jordan valley.
The decapolis city of Pella, part of modern Tabaqat Fahl. Continuously occupied since the Neolithic period around 6500 BC, Pella enjoys one of the longest pre-classical histories of any site in Jordan.
