Are TREKS guides First Aid Certified? Do you have a risk assessment and management plan?
Yes, all TREKS guides are first aid trained. Our first aid and response procedures are based on international standards. We also use the guidelines set forth by the British Standardization Institute (BSI) code BS:8848 for the creation of our Risk Assessment and Management System, as well as the general management of the itineraries.
Are there bathrooms/toilets on the hike?
Yes, as we will be sleeping in local guesthouses and hotels
Where is the drinking water coming from?
Drinking water will be sourced from bottled clean water .
What kind of food will we eat?
Mostly vegetables, fruits, dates, eggs, rice, bread, pasta (we can accommodate food based on the clients’ preferences and dietary restrictions). In addition to some meats, chicken and fish. We recommend you take some of your favorite snacks as well.
Is tipping the local guides required?
It is not mandatory, but recommended. The livelihoods of our local support staff (guides and porters) depends on the money they make during the trek, most of which comes from tips.
Is the plane ticket included in the price?
No. You will either book your own flight or we can do it, however keep in mind that the prices depend on the season and time of reservation.
Will you issue me an invoice?
Yes. Furthermore, payments can be made in cash, by cheque, bank transfer or credit card.
Is it safe?
Hiking is not a dangerous activity, but a certain degree of caution is required. Our team will take all necessary precautions to make sure we have a good time and come back home safe.
