80 km of some of the most breathtaking regions on the Jordan Trail, referred to by National Geographic as one of ‘The World’s Best Hikes: 15 Classic Trails’. The trail descends from the heights of Dana Biosphere Reserve, passing several diverse ecosystems, climate zones, beautiful geology, countless mountains, valleys, and endless natural beauty. And last but not least, the trail ends with the spectacular Nabatean masterpiece, Petra. A day’s worth of exploration, with numerous trails and sites to explore and be amazed by.

Day 1: DEPART TO DANA
Accommodation: Bedouin touristic camp
Driving time: 2.5-hour drive from Amman to Dana
Assembly time: to be confirmed a week before the hike
General Info: Gather at the meeting point and meet your fellow hikers, then transfer to your Bedouin touristic camp, situated in the 300-year-old beautiful village of Dana. Enjoy dinner, tea, and a tranquil night before the hike starts the next morning. D
Day 2: DANA TO WADI MALAGA - 23 km
Accommodation: Wild camp

Time: 8 - 10 hours

General Info: Early breakfast then meet our support team and drop our luggage to be transported to our camping spot, the hike starts at Dana village and winds down through the scenic wadi dana, then arrives at the ancient mining area of Faynan, the trail then continues south in the flat desert of wadi araba until we arrive at our camp. We will enjoy a tranquil night and a taste of the south local food. B L D
Day 3: WADI MALAGA TO RAS AL-FEID - 16 km

Time: 6 - 8 hours

General Info: Ascend across several dry tributaries, with Wadi Araba to the west and Al Sharat mountain range to the east. Continue east uphill to reach Ras Naqb Sheid, offering stunning views in all directions. Follow a steep downhill to reach Wadi Al-Feid, Arrive at the campsite where you will have your tents set up, and a rewarding dinner waiting for you. B L D
Day 4: RAS AL FIED TO LITTLE PETRA - 24 km

General Info: We leave Ras Al Feid along a rocky sandstone terrain. Throughout are spectacular varying views of the barren desert landscape with surprise encounters of desert vegetation and animal life. Approaching Little Petra there are signs of increasing human habitation of Bedouin camps, sheep pens, and small agricultural plots. We enter a small sandstone canyon and wind our way through to the site of Beihdah. B L D
Day 5: LITTLE PETRA TO PETRA - 14 km

Distance: 14 km
Time: 5-6 hours

General Info: Enjoy breakfast served at the campsite, to then discover the Neolithic remains at Beida UNESCO Heritage site before starting the day’s hike. Start at Beida from Seig Al-Bared, following a good back-trail through sandstone mountains to reach the monastery of Petra (referred to as Al-Deyer), and spend the day exploring and visiting the Ancient Sites of Petra, including the famous Treasury and Royal Tombs. After the hike, you can either continue the hike to Wadi Rum, head back to Amman, or use any of the below add-ons. B L

- Should I get my own travel insurance?
Yes, we strongly recommended the purchase of an insurance plan to protect you from the unexpected. We are not experts in travel insurance and we suggest you consult an insurance company on this matter.
- Are the bathrooms/toilets on the hike?
If we are staying in lodges, homestays, or official campsites, then toilets will be provided, and at times showers. Otherwise, if we are wild camping then toilets are not provided.
- Where is the drinking water coming from?
Clean water station will be available to refill your water bottels (Please avoid single use water bottles and bring your own water bottle to minimize our impact)
- What kind of food will we eat?
Vegetables, fruits, dates, eggs, rice, bread, and meats (we can accommodate food based on the client's preferences and dietary restrictions).
- Is there support along the trail? What will they be carrying?
Full support will be provided, fully supported wild camp including tents, mattresses, cook & vehicle to transport your luggage to each camp spot
- Is the plane ticket included in the price?
No. You will have to book your own flight to Jordan. Unless you ask us otherwise.
- Will you issue me an invoice?
Yes. Furthermore, payments can be made in cash, by check, or by credit card.
- When is it best to visit?
March to May or September to December are the best months to hike across the south of Jordan, with moderate temperatures during the day and a low chance of showers. However the weather drops dramatically at night so make sure to bring warm layers and a poncho or raincoat.
- Is it safe?
Hiking is not a dangerous activity, but a certain degree of caution is required. You simply need the right mindset and gear.
- What about tips, is it mandatory?
No, it is not, but highly recommended if you appreciate the service as listed below:
Main guide: 15 - 20 $ per person/day

Driver: 7 - 10 $ per day
