From the Rum Village rest house, continue to the end of the village, to then join an off-road trail. Continue on the trail, passing by Bedouin camps and by the Lawrence Spring. Continue south, noticing Qattar Spring visible at the base of a mountain to the right. Once in the spring, turn right along sandstone mountains to enter a narrower valley. Continue straight across a sandier valley, narrowing past Al-Qidr mountains. Walk through the valley to approach Wadi Waraqa, where the sandstone mountains start to fade giving way to granite, quartz, and gravel rock terrain.
